Fabes beans are the essential ingredient for the classic Asturian Fabada. If you have never tasted it, you have certainly missed out of one of Spains most emblematic dishes. It is a wonderful bean stew cooked with Asuturian smoked chorizo, bacon & Asturian black pudding (morcilla). The collection of the meats is commonly known as "Compango"
Fabes are very special beans grown and always command a very high price - but after you have eaten a good fabada, you will see it is worth it,
The fabes need to be soaked in cold water overnight before being used and then take around 2-3 hours to gently simmer.
They are presented in a typical cloth bag.
