Pedrosillano chickpeas are the smallest variety of the chickpea family, with a special, buttery flavour that makes them ideal for fast, healthy cooking.
Legumes like chickpeas should be eaten 2 or 3 times a week, as they are highly nutritious. A serving of legumes is 60-80 g of raw product, equivalent to 150-180 g of cooked product. You can add them to numerous recipes for salads, pasta or rice, or sauté them with vegetables. And if you’re in a hurry, keep it simple! Open the jar, heat them up and serve them with a little bit of olive oil and Modena vinegar.
Legumes are a very nutritious and complete food. They provide carbohydrates, whose main function is to give your body the immediate energy it needs to carry out its functions. They also provide fibre, for good intestinal health, and various vitamins and minerals. They are also high in proteins. Did you know that mixing chickpeas with cereals like rice or pasta yields a dish that is full of protein? And it’s recommended that half of our daily protein intake come from vegetables.
Finally, chickpeas are rich in vitamins (folacin, vitamins A and E) and minerals (calcium, potassium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus and sodium), which help regulate and protect the body.
The jar contains enough for about 1-2 main course portions depending on the type of meal.
